Large plant for window recycling

A large plant designed and supplied by hamos has been installed at a leading British recycler of PVC window profiles for processing of post-consumer window profiles.

The first stage of the process provides for dust removal from the shredded PVC before the materials is then freed from all conductive products (metals, certain rubber fractions, paper and cardboard) in a hamos KWS electrostatic metal separator. The remaining rubber is removed in a subsequent separation stage in a hamos EKS electrostatic plastics separator. Almost pure PVC is then obtained. The white PVC is separated in a further stage with a SEA PIXEL optical colour sorter, as this material has much higher value.

The entire plant has been supplied on a turnkey basis, complete with fully automatic material logistics and Big Bag filling stations.

Electronics waste recycling plant in Canada

In co-operation with Retek-Goslar GmbH, a complete hamos ERP I and II electronics waste recycling plant has been installed at GEEP Inc., in Edmonton, Canada, the leading electronics waste recycler in North America. This plant processes three to four tones per hour of mixed electrical and electronics waste and produces high grade metal and plastics concentrates from it.

The hamos KWS electrostatic metal separator used in the process separates metals from the fine material fractions and dust arising during the process.
