hamos EMS and hamos KMS minerals separators
hamos KMS electrostatic minerals separators sort heavy mineral sands efficiently with good separation results in pure individual fractions. The dry operation process separates by using the differences in the conductivity of the minerals.
Desired constituents can be concentrated and undesirable foreign substances removed this way from sands containing heavy minerals (for example ilmenite, rutile or zirconium sands) and other suitable mixed sands.
With the hamos EMS electrostatic minerals separators, you can separate mixtures of minerals in a dry way, such as, for example, quartz and feldspar, into their individual constituents. Here, feldspar is separated and the quartz concentrated.
By use of the tribo-electric behaviour of the individual minerals, the hamos EMS separates your mixed materials with little effort into single-sort material fractions.

You are not sure whether your material is suitable for electrostatic separation? Speak with our experts. We will be pleased to investigate the separation capability of your material in our technical department. We will show you which purities and throughput rates we can achieve with your material. You will receive our test report based on the separation test results. We will then offer you equipment or a system that is optimal for your application.
hamos KMS
The mineral mixture is conditioned before electrostatic separation. Neither chemical additives nor liquids are required here.
This pre-treated mineral mixture is introduced into a separation drum in the hamos KMS via a dosing unit and electrostatically charged. Conductive minerals give up their charge to the earthed drum and are rejected by rotation force. Non-conductive materials slowly loose their charge however and adhere to the drum surface, form which they are brushed off.
Highest purity can be obtained with high throughput rates with the hamos KMS minerals separator. Different predetermined separation strategies, depending on corresponding mineral deposits can be pursued, due to the flexible machine design concept.
hamos EMS
The dry mixture of minerals must have dust removed and be conditioned prior to electrostatic separation. Conditioning does not require any addition of chemicals or liquids. The mixture of minerals is now charged by means of tribo-electric effects in a specially designed charging unit in the hamos EMS separator. The individual material constituents take on here their own specific charges with different polarity.
Electrostatic separation takes places in the separator by means of an electrostatic high voltage field creating positively and negatively charged components. Product purities are optimised with adjustable metal separating sheets.
