hamos WRS recycling systems for PVC window profiles
This combination of a hamos EKS electrostatic plastics separator and SEA PIXEL opto-electronic colour sorting equipment has been designed specifically for economic recycling of PVC profile off-cuts and used PVC windows.
Practically all seals (rubber, plasticized PVC, etc.) are separated from shredded dust-free pieces of PVC windows with the hamos EKS electrostatic plastics separator.
Downline installation of a SEA PIXEL opto-electronic colour sorter enhances purity and/or improves the whiteness (brightness). PVC purities of over 99.995 % can be achieved through combined use of both of these processes.
then the hamos WRS system
is ideal for separation of undesired contaminants such as rubber seals, polyamide (nylon) and other
foreign plastics.
In order to obtain an optimum separation result with the hamos WRS, the ground PVC window material should have the following characteristics:
* PVC regrind with contamination such as rubber, polyamide (nylon),
plasticized PVC, etc.
* Particle size between 2 and 8 mm
* Dust-free material
* Fully broken down material
* Dry material (ideal surface moisture < 0.8 %)
* Material without treatment by anti-static agents
You are not sure whether your material is suitable for electrostatic separation and colour sorting? Speak with our experts. After you have checked with us, we will be pleased if you send us a material sample of approx. 20 kg, with which we can investigate the separation capability of your material in our technical department.
We will show you which purities and throughputs can be achieved with your material. You will receive our test report based on these separation results. We will then gladly offer you the system that is optimal for your application.
Stage I: Electrostatic separation
In the hamos EKS the dust-free granulated mixture of PVC and rubber is tribo-electrically charged in a special charging unit, whereby PVC particles become charged negatively, rubber and foreign plastics positively. The plastics are then separated in a high voltage electrical field. A part of the contamination by metal, glass, wood, PE film, etc. that may be present is additionally remobed by means of a special arrangement of the electrodes.
Stage II: Colour sorting
SEA PIXEL opto-electronic colour sorting is subsequently used in order to enhance the product purity of the PVC fraction. The material to be sorted is checked from all sides with a camera system. Should an incorrectly coloured particle be recognised, it is blown out by a fast operating pressure valve.
